Abstract
The Research Residency sought to answer the following question: In what ways can utilizing a problem-centered approach that joins academic research, clinical practice and community expertise impact change regarding improving teacher candidates’ culturally competent communication skills working with families of diverse learners in Title I schools? More specifically, what steps are necessary to improvement of candidates’ culturally competent communication skills?
