Abstract

Teaching Writing in the Age of AI: Strategies for Teachers of Secondary Students (Hicks & Turner, 2025) is written for an audience of secondary teachers and teacher educators, but any instructor who teaches or assigns writing will benefit from its insights. While the book's overall stance toward generative AI might be overly optimistic, it effectively addresses key concerns many instructors have about writing with AI, encouraging a critical stance and presenting some out-of-the-box ideas for writing instructive who want to be proactive about AI use in their courses.
